Radon: New Publication
Joan F. Rey, doctoral student at the institut TRANSFORM working on several research projects on radon published a paper in prestigious scientific journal Frontiers: Radiation and Health: Systematic review of statistical methods for the identification of buildings and areas with high radon levels.
This paper provides a systematic review of the methods used to predict/estimate indoor radon, using the PRISMA methodology. Methodologies were classified into four main categories:
- descriptive methods;
- regression methods;
- geostatistical methods;
- machine learning methods.
For each method, advantages and disadvantages are presented while some applications examples are given. The ultimate purpose of this overview is to provide researchers with a synthesis paper to optimize the selection of the method to identify radon prone areas and buildings.
